The Reading Association of the Philippines (RAP), the leading professional organization of reading educators and advocates in the country and the national affiliate of the International Reading Association (IRA), will have its annual demonstration festival at the Stadia in the CSI Center, Dagupan City, Pangasinan on November 12 (Thursday), 13 (Friday) & 14 (Saturday), 2009. This national conference of reading teachers, professors, and specialists will focus on the theme: Reading Comprehension Across the Curriculum. Speakers include National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario, Metrobank Outstanding Teacher for 2009 Dina Ocampo, and Director of the National Historical Institute Ambeth Ocampo. The registration fee of P3,500 for non-members of RAP includes PM snacks and dinner for November 12, lunch and AM & PM snacks for November 13 & 14, conference kit, certificates of participation and appearance, and handouts. The annual membership fee is PhP 500.00. A member of good standing is entitled to a free copy of the latest RAP Journal and a discounted rate in the conference. Special undergraduate student rate is PhP 1000, without food. Early bird registration (at a discounted rate) is until October 23, 2009.
